UniRV hosts discussion about the 2023-2033 Higher Education Directive Plan

The University of Rio Verde hosted this Friday, August 18, a public hearing to deal with the 2023-2033 Higher Education Directive Plan. The events are being held in 10 cities in Goiás, encompassing the 10 planning regions, during the month of August and, in Rio Verde this was the sixth edition of the meeting that discusses the premises to create the PDES.

The process to establish the directive plan is being led by the Goiás State Secretary for Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti-GO). It started in 2022 with studies, contributions from society and higher education institutions (IES) in Goiás, where the document was drafted and made available for public debate during the public hearings.

The 2023-2023 Higher Education Directive Plan has four structuring axis: sustainable higher education management; teaching, research and extension; entrepreneurship, innovation and internationalization; and access, permanence and success in Higher Education Institutions.

The PDES is being built by several people and has the cooperation of rectors, managers, professors from public and private higher education intuitions in Goiás, from research institutions in Goiás, and the productive sector, helping define directives to establish actions and goals for higher education for the next 10 years. Present at the meeting held at UniRV were representatives from the Goiás State University (UEG); Goiás Federal Institute and Quirinópolis College.

“Hosting the sixth stage of the public hearings at UniRV is reason for honor and happiness for our University. This public hearing provides an important space for us to debate the Higher Education Directive Plan. We attended the first hearing a year ago, closely accompanying the release of this document. Our doors are open for any event the Goiás government may hold. I hope this is a very productive afternoon with great contributions to this plan,” commented the Rector, professor Alberto Barella Netto.
