Election define, today, the new Faculty directors and Master’s coordinator

This Tuesday, May 23, academics and professors from the University of Rio Verde took part of the election process that will select the new Faculty directors and the coordinator for the Plant Production Master’s. Electors can vote according to the following schedule: Rio Verde Campus (8am to 9pm); Aparecida de Goiânia (8am to 5pm) and Goianésia Campus (8am to 5pm). Everybody needs to show original photo ID.

In Rio Verde Campus, the election will take place in blocks 1, 2 and 6. Those selected will be in office for two years, from 2023 to 2025. There will be elections for directors of the following courses: Agronomy, Accounting Sciences, Law, Nursing, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physiotherapy, Medicine (Aparecida de Goiânia Campus), Medicine (Goianésia Campus), Medicine (Rio Verde Campus), Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Pedagogy and Psychology. There will also be a professor elected to be the coordinator of the Master’s Plant Production.

This is the first time that the third period Dentistry academic, Débora Fernandes Borges, participates of the election process at the University. The young woman, who chose to vote during the morning, mentions the importance of exercising the right to vote and have an active voice in choosing the new course director: “Participating of the election is important, for it is through it that we can choose the person who will help us improve the course”.

Differently from Débora, this is the second time that Law student, Anna Luísa Justino, participates of a UniRV election. For the seventh period student, her participation contributes to the construction of an academic environment that is more inclusive, transparent and committed to education excellency: “We are exercising our right to universal suffrage. As a Law academic, I believe this is extremely important because it is a way to express ourselves”.

Reinforcing how important it is for academics and professors to participate in electing new representatives, the Rector of UniRV, professor Alberto Barella, was one of the first to vote in the administrative block auditorium, emphasizing that it is through the engagement of those who are involved that a teaching institution can evolve and offer quality education.

“I invite all voters to show up to voting polls during the scheduled time. Your participation is crucial to strengthen academic democracy and guarantee that the choices are made for the future of the UniRV faculties and the Plant Production Post-Graduation. Together, we can make a difference!”
