Rector participates of the 1^st National and 5^th Regional Medicine Congress in Aparecida Campus

Always trying to incentivize and support events that promote knowledge exchange and approach themes that corroborate academic formation, the Rector of the University of Rio Verde, professor Alberto Barella Netto took part, this Thursday, May 18, of the official opening of the 1^st National Congress of Medicine Academics (CONAMED) and 5^th Regional Congress of Medicine Academics (CORAM), held by the Faculty of Medicine, Aparecida Campus.

Considered among the top national and regional forums, it is one of the most important for the meeting of several professionals and academics in Centro-Oeste and Triângulo Mineiro, the event offers themes that contribute to the formation of clinical and scientific knowledge of medicine students, as well as becoming a source for updates to health professionals who are already working.

The opening ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Regional Medicine Board (CREMEGO). There was a presentation of Tachycardia Marching Band, created in 2014, with expressive actions in InterMed, InterSaúde and JOREM games held in Goiás, Minas Gerais and Distrito Federal, winning titles in all of them. It is the first marching band to win JOREM and did not lose until the fourth edition of the Medicine Games, as well as getting the title and three banners in InterMed GO 2023.

In her speech, the president of the organizing committee, academic Flávia Guimarães reinforced the event’s importance and thanked the University for all the support. “I had the support of the entire Campus coordination, in people such as professors Getúlio and Rafaela and chiefly the Rector who was always available to hear and support us. Having professor Barella in our opening ceremony makes our event even grander. Thank you for the words of acknowledgement and all the support,” comments Flávia.

The pedagogical coordinator, professor Ms. Getúlio Antônio de Freitas Filho began his speech congratulating the organizers and reinstating the institution’s role in supporting events that stimulate learning and practical scientific activities. “This is a very important moment for the academics of the Faculty of Medicine in Aparecida Campus, by hosting the 1^st National and 5^th Regional Medicine Congress. I want to congratulate the organizers and thank all the participants. My special thanks to professor Barella for honoring us tonight and for supporting everything the Faculty does,” reinforces Getúlio.

For the Rector, events such as this are very important to academic formation and contribute to professional updates for those already working. “Congratulations to the organizing committee and the Aparecida Campus Faculty of Medicine for such an important initiative that promotes the meeting of personalities the move education. The University of Rio Verde incentivizes and supports cultural and scientific exchange between students and professionals and constantly seeks to be closer to the academic community.” states Alberto Barella.

The opening ceremony also had the lectures: “The modern clinical exam”, presented by cardiologist and professor at the Federal University of Goiás, Celmo Celeno Porto; and “Transforming the impossible into reality: how Harvard changed my life and can also change yours” presented by the medicine student at the Federal University of Viçosa, Felipe Rong.

The program will continue until Sunday, May 21, with lectures, roundtables and workshops of varied themes, that help academic development. Check out the full schedule:
