Design Marathon promotes experience exchange with lectures and workshops
Held through the month of May, the “Design Marathon” carried out a special program in the night of this Thursday, May 11, with the goal of exchanging experiences in the Faculties of Graphic and Interior Design. The proposition took photographers Iwata Jr. and Gabriel Shiba and illustrator and concept artist Nicole Dias.
The director of the Faculties, professor Me. Márcio Rubens, opened the evening welcoming the lecturers and talking about the importance in sharing experiences in forming designers: “it is very important to ally techniques to sensitivity and artistic view, mainly in areas connected to the creative economy,” he comments.
Photographer Iwata Jr. guided academics through a journey in his professional life with samples of things he has done in several types of photography: from editorial to fine art, approaching composition and lighting techniques, apart from giving tips on posing and body language, according to the different needs of his clients. And at the end of the lecture, the photographer answered questions made by academics on equipment, techniques and his view on images generated by Artificial Intelligence.
Continuing the evening, Gabriel Shiba spoke about a different type of photographic production: sensitive photography, which emphasizes the eyes of the photographer, their feeling and the feeling awakened by the moment of capturing these real works of art filled with meaning. Shiba finished talking about his career transition, from Civil Engineering to Photography and how he found himself personally and professionally in this new activity.
The evening ended with the lecture on Concept Design and Illustration with the Graphic Design graduate, Nicole Dias. The creation of characters, storytelling in concept art and creative process were approached through a step-by-step by the artist’s methodology. Answering the questions from the academics, she finished her presentation by talking about tools and software.
