With a record number of registrations, VII Dentistry Academic Journey started this Wednesday

With the mission of developing actions that enrich academic and professional formation of students and every other participant and trying to provide academic activities according to market demands, the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Rio Verde held, on Wednesday evening, May 10, the official opening of the VII Academic Journey. The journey has as its goal to provide updated knowledge on techniques and practices in the dentistry area, enriching and deepening learning, as well as keeping touch with the professionals of the area, in order to spread knowledge and exchange information.

The 2023 edition had a record number of registrations and had the presence of 620 participants. The directive board for the opening ceremony was made up of the Vice-Rector and Pro-Rector of Graduation, professor Dr. Arício Vieira da Silva, who was representing the Rector, professor Alberto Barella Netto; the president of the Regional Board of Dentistry (CROGO), Renerson Gomes dos Santos; the director of the Faculty of Dentistry, professor Dr. Renato Canevari Dutra; professors Dr. Francine Lorencetti da Silva (Pedagogical Coordinator) and Dr. Julia Dantas Mazão (president of the Organizing Committee), as well as the president of the Academic Center, Paulo Ricardo Arantes Feitosa.

Opening up the speeches, the president of the organizing committee began her speech by greeting all the academics and thanking them for their presence, as well as the professionals for their professional roles: “I would like to thank the University of Rio Verde, on behalf of our Rector, professor Alberto Barella, for the support; I thank the direction of the course, the Academic Center and all the students that helped make this event possible. Seeing this auditorium crowded today enhances our experience during the preparation of this year’s Journey. Thanks to all of you for coming,” comments professor Dr. Julia Dantas Mazão.

In her speech, the pedagogical coordinator, Dr. Francine Lorencetti, reinforced the importance of a Journey in the academic career. “We are very proud that the VII Journey is underway. I hope that everyone enjoys the opportunity that is being offered regarding modern and current themes. We have prepared this event very carefully, especially this year, in which the Faculty of Dentistry is celebrating its 10^th anniversary. Enjoy the three days of immersion into dentistry and absorb as much knowledge as you can,” states professor Dr. Francine Lorencetti da Silva.

For the director of the Faculty of Dentistry, professor Dr. Renato Canevari, the Journey is the great opportunity for knowledge exchange: “I thank every academic and guest. It is an honor being a part of this Faculty, which has the best professors and most renown professionals, which demonstrates our commitment to a quality education. Congratulations to the organizers for choosing the lecturers and for all the care that went into producing a quality Dentistry Journey” he shared.

Someone who knows the course’s quality and infrastructure well, the CROGO president, Renerson Gomes, highlighted the role the journeys play in academics’ lives and complimented UniRV for its commitment towards Dentistry: “I am very glad in participating of a Dentistry Journey, of seeing that here are being prepared the professionals of the future who will perform in the marketplace. The formation of a good professional is the institution’s responsibility and the Regional Board knows that from here come excellent professionals. The Regional Board for Dentistry is proud of UniRV”, congratulated Renerson.

Closing the speeches, the Vice-Rector, professor Dr. Arício Vieira congratulated everyone for attending such an important event: “The University of Rio Verde spares no efforts in carrying out actions for teaching, research and extension. The Faculty of Dentistry is one of the best in the country, both for its teaching body as for the constant investments so that the course can prepare academics to shine in the marketplace. I wish an excellent Journey and that everyone can take maximum advantage of each theme prepared for this edition”.

To close the opening program, the lecture “Success principles in modern implantology” presented by the HUAPA and HUGOL oral and maxillofacial surgeon Leandro Cardoso. The lecturer is graduated in Dentistry by the University of the State of São Paulo Júlio de Mesquita Filho – UNESP and specialized in Implantology and Orofacial Harmonization. He also has a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Treatment by the University of the State of São Paulo Júlio de Mesquita Filho – UNESP.

The scientific event continues on Thursday and Friday, May 11 and 12, with two lectures during the morning and two in the afternoon. There will also be practical activities in the Dentistry School Clinic.
