The site is roughly an area of 190 thousand m² and houses two springs that fall into the pond. The pond falls into the lake, into a beautiful waterfall.

Considering a historical and cultural site, the place is open to visitation and attracts people who enjoy rural culture and its history. Construction for the colonial style building, with 41 rooms, began in 1951, by action of the former owner Jalles Machado de Siqueira.
In 1998 the farm was expropriated by INCRA, so that three years later Assentamento Presente was established.

History
Goianésia history remounts to the XIX century, when farmer Antônio Manoel de Barros required the registration of his lands in the Nossa Senhora da Penha Perish, located in Jaraguá Village in 1857. This property, that extended itself for over 3,400 bushels, was made up of vast areas of cerrado and was called Calção de Couro Farm, in reference to the stream that goes through the property.
Back then, the São Patrício Valley region, where Goianésia is located, already had a history of conflict related to land ownership. Thus, the registration of these lands was key to guarantee the legal ownership and prevent conflict with other owners. Apart from that, great rural properties were the base of local economy and many landowners had enormous political influence locally.
Only in 1920 did Ladislau Mendes Ribeiro, who was married to the granddaughter of Antônio Manoel de Barros, began exploring the area by building a ranch on the right margin of the stream. This was the beginning of the occupation of Calção de Couro Farm, that later, along with São Bento Farms, Itajáand the old part of Lavrinhas de São Sebastião, would originate the city of Goianésia. The region got its township status through State Law 747, of June 24, 1953, with the territory dismembered from Jaraguá.
“We chose Goianésia to implant our second Medicine Campus outside of Rio Verde and we are grateful for all the care received from the people of Goianésia. We have built a beautiful Campus to welcome our academics, with a modern infrastructure. There have already been 8 years participating of the history of this wonderful city”, remembers the Rector, professor Alberto Barella Netto.
