The Rector follows his schedule in the Esplanada dos Ministérios and has a hearing with the Vice-President
As a part of the Brazilian Association of Municipal and State University Rectors (ABRUEM) comity, as a member of its Deliberation Board, professor Alberto Barella Netto, Rector of the University of Rio Verde, followed a schedule of meetings in Brasília on March 7th and 8th. The Board meeting started with the monthly gathering to deliberate important topics to the associated higher education institutions.
To present the state and municipal higher education system and several other demands of mutual interest to the associates, Alberto Barella, alongside the president and vice-president of ABRUEM – respectively Francisco de O’ de Lima Júnior and Odilon Máximo de Morais -, participated of many important hearings in the Esplanada do Ministérios. They were welcomed by the Ministers: Luciana Santos (Science and Technology) and Camilo Santana (Education). On the occasion, the Rector also protocolled the invitation for the 69th National Forum of ABRUEM, an event that will be hosted by UniRV, in May of this year.
Still in Brasília, the schedule of meetings ended with a hearing that had the participation of the Brazilian Vice-President and the Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin. This was a significant opportunity to show the Association’s representation, that became the main space for meetings and discussions toward the strengthening of higher education. Alckmin was officially invited to visit Rio Verde, getting to know UniRV’s infrastructure and participate in ABRUEM’s Forum that has as its theme the Objectives of Sustainable Development in the associate institutions.
“It was another important step for the ABRUEM associate institutions; we were heard by the Minister of Science and Technology, Luciana Santos, and by the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, and, by doing so, we had the opportunity to request improvements at the federal level. We finish our schedule with Brazilian Vice-President, Geraldo Alckmin, presenting this Association that has strengthened higher education. When many unite in the name of a strong objective, goals are accomplished”, restates the Rector.
