Dentistry Alumni are selected in Master’s Programs in São Paulo

Students Lucas Pinheiro da Silva, Ana Paula Andrade Borges and Caroline Marques dos Santos from the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Rio Verde – UniRV, were selected in Master’s Programs. The alumni are part of the most recent group of graduates in the course. According to Ana Paula, accepted in the Master’s in Biosciences and Forensic Sciences (UNESP), to keep on studying was always one of her objectives. Involved with the academic life in the Faculty of Dentistry, the student made sure to highlight the role of course directors and professors in her achievement.

“UniRV will always be a part of my life. Since I got into the University the teaching staff has always stived to help every student that was active in the classes. When the labs and clinics began, professors were always present to make this experience something incredible. So, they are all very special to me and all I can do is thank them,” the new Master’s student told emotionally.

It was through her participation in the Academic League of Surgery that Caroline Marques discovered the Scientific Initiation Program, which contributed so that the young woman understood, from the beginning the possibilities that research give to a student. In the third period, with the support of the League members, Caroline was a part of a research group that developed several studies in bone reparation. “That was how I discovered the possibility of doing a Master’s, with scientific initiation I acquired a scholarship and took part in several extension programs. Apart from this, every time I had a break in my schedule I participated as a monitor, helping organize lectures and events. In each of these experiences I was discovering myself more and incrementing my professional career,” said the student selected in the Clinical Dentistry Post-Graduation Program, with an emphasis in Teeth Prosthetics at UNICAMP.

Lucas’s interest in being a professor was born in the last two years of college. Admired by the didactics of his professors and the possibilities of work, the former student was selected in the Endodontics Sciences Post-Graduation at UNESP. Through the five years of the course, Lucas participated of several projects, becoming the president of the Dentistry Academic Center, participating in the Extension and Research League and developing scientific initiation projects through PIVIC. “My experience in UniRV was great. I have nothing but gratitude to all the professor who contributed to my ´professional formation, helped me understand how the selection process for the post-graduation worked and incentivized me towards my goal”.

For the Faculty of Dentistry pedagogical coordinator, Dr. Francine Lorencetti, the Alumni selection represents the accomplishments of a serious work, that vouches for excellence in teaching, research and extension in a multidisciplinary way, guided by scientifical evidence that allows for the preparation of the students and alumni for the job market,” she concluded.
