Buscando proporcionar experiências práticas e auxiliar no desenvolvimento dos estudantes de graduação por meio da integralidade do conhecimento, a Liga Acadêmica de Ortopedia e Fisioterapia do Esporte (LAOFE), da Universidade de Rio Verde-UniRV, participou no último final de semana do “Torneio de Futevôlei Na Praia”, disputado nas categorias iniciante aberto, masculino e misto.

Physiotherapy Students perform appointments during a footvolley tournament

Looking to promote practical experiences and helping the development of graduation students through an integrative knowledge, the Academic League of sports Physiotherapy and Orthopedics (LAOFE), of the University of Rio Verde - UniRV, participated over the last weekend of the “footvolley at the beach tournament”, with an open beginner’s category, as well as male and mixed categories.

During the tournament the students of Faculty of Physiotherapy performed consultations, prescribed mobility and muscular activation workouts as a way of warming up for the games and myofascial release and stretching as a form of recovery, as well as offering in game emergency aid, and passing on instruction to athletes and footvoley practitioners.

For the president of LAOFE, Maria Fernanda, activities such as these are enriching to building a career and guiding students in the choice of what area to follow. “I see that it is of the utmost importance that students participate of these practical moments, which are the appointments we are called, there we see live what we have learned in the classroom, with the added benefit of creating a bigger and better environment for the students in other periods as well as people from outside of the university that are interested on the sport. For the athletes, having this kind of aid is essential and, because, apart from having a better performance in the game, we provide better well-being and quality of life after the game, so, this is a benefit to all!” highlighted the 9^th period student.

Her opinion is shared by the course director, professor doctorate student, Marcos Marcondes de Godoy, who still emphasizes that student participation in different events happen since the beginning of the academic trajectory. “Our Faculty is always involved in events that enable knowledge exchange with professionals in a certain field and encompass as many fields as possible, thus awakening in the students an interest and contributing to an ever more assertive choice of their field of work,” he said.
