Residents get their diplomas during a memorable ceremony

Concluding another step imprints an important moment in a professional’s history, who know that the search for knowledge must be constant, and that enhancing what one knows, adds value to an ethical and humanistic formation. That is exactly what the ten doctors who have concluded the Medical Residency Program of the University of Rio Verde - UNiRV stated this Monday, 13^th, in a ceremony filled with emotion and pride in their accomplishment.

On this special night, surrounded by family, friends and mentors, who closely followed all this trajectory, the conclusion of residencies in Basic Surgery, Medical Clinic, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Family and Community Medicine and Pediatrics took place in the Administrative Block auditorium, where the beginning of new challenges welcomed the students with open arms.

On the occasion, the directive board was made up of the Pro-Rector of Post-Graduation, professor Dr. Claudemir Bertuolo, who represented UniRV’s Rector, professor Alberto Barella; Rio Verde’s Health Secretary, Djan Barbosa; the director of the Faculty of Medicine (Rio Verde Campus), professor Rychard Arruda de Souza; and the coordinator of UniRV’s Medical Residency Comity, professor Dr. Giodanne Guimarães Freitas. All of them restated the importance of such a step in the professional career of the students and highlighted the importance of the Program in forming doctors that are apt to fulfil the career precepts.

“Today is a very happy day to all of us, because we have reached the end of another class of our Medical Residency Program. In the last selection process that the University of Rio Verde did, we had an average of 20 candidates per position and we proudly highlight that of the 10 available positions, 7 out of 10 were filled out by alumni from our Faculty of Medicine,” highlighted the Pro-Rector, Dr. Claudemir Bertuolo, who finished by emphasizing that the selection process is not organized by UniRV and every institution that offers a Medical Residency in the state of Goiás participate, guaranteeing the transparency of the procedures.

For Ana Lúcia Borges, receiving the title of specialist gives rise to a feeling of satisfaction. “We had the opportunity of living the day-to-day practice of our chosen areas. I’m happy and proud of having being a part of this whole process”, she said while representing the students. With the delivery of the conclusion certificates, followed by a round of applause, ended another cycle that symbolizes the arrival in a journey built over a solid base of knowledge.
