First UniRV Transdisciplinary Extension Congress begins
Over a thousand people gathered at the Convention Center to participate of the official opening of the First UniRV Transdisciplinary Extension Congress. The event, promoted by the Faculties of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Dentistry at the University of Rio Verde, will last until May 19, and has the goal of debating good practices in taking care of people with disabilities (PCD), bringing the community closer to the institution in order to broaden debates.
Promoting the integration among different courses, the Congress’s first edition has a program filled with activities that include a wide cycle of lectures, presented by 28 guests, workshops and sports competitions. To kickoff the event and make the evening even more special, the honoree table was made up by the Vice-Rector, professor Dr. Arício Vieira, who on the occasion was representing the Rector, professor Alberto Barella; the Pro-Rector of Student Affairs, professor Dr. Elton Brás; the director of the Nursing course, professor Dr. Berenice Moreira; the director of the Dentistry course, professor Dr. Renato Canevari Dutra and the ADESPARV Vice-President, André Barbosa Ramos. They thanked academics, professors and professionals for participating, and welcomed them all.
“As soon as we opened registration for the Congress we had a huge acceptance. In less than 48h we already had over a thousand registrations. This is an event made up of professionals in diverse areas, which makes knowledge expansion easier”, highlights director Berenice Moreira. Delighting those in attendance and celebrating the beginning another event, the musicians of the Joana de Ângelis Association had a presentation of the symphonic orchestra made up children and teenagers.
The lecture “overcoming is worth gold”, presented by Doctor in Education, Adriano José Hertzog Vieira, marked the evening and started the event on the right foot. During the presentation, the professor, who turned blind when he was 37, told how the adaptation and acceptance process happened, relating his experiences, highlighting the importance of bringing up discussion on this theme.
