UniRV participates of Rondon Project and develops activities during operation Lobo-Guará
Expanding and applying the knowledge acquired in the university in benefit of society is one of the main motivating factors of Rondon Project. This year, the initiative coordinated by the Ministry of Defense, started on January 19th, taking place in Goiás, Minas Gerais and Distrito Federal.
Putting forth an expressive participation during operation “Lobo-Guará”, the University of Rio Verde - UniRV, through the efforts of the students and professor of the Faculties of Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dentistry, Nursing and Medicine. They made up the team of “rondonistas” that acted in cities of Cabeceira Grande (MG) and Simolândia (GO).
Project Rondon operations are done during the school vacation period, with actions in the areas of Culture, Human Rights and Justice, Educations and Health. The project contains a diagnosis of the problems of the region and details on how the University plans on developing each of the actions, which includes methodology; target population; working hours and the awaited return to the community.
For UniRV’s Rector, professor Alberto Barella, the University’s participation in another edition of Rondon Project reinforces the commitment to passing on knowledge beyond classrooms. “The effective participation of our students and the effort in finding feasible solutions to existing problems in society is, without a doubt, a great opportunity of living unique experiences and putting in practice the everyday life of the profession that each of them has chosen to follow,” he concluded.
